Museum Day 2010

Saturday September 25th, 2010. Free day at the museum. Actually, free day for all the museums in Houston!
Blake told me about the free day at the museum. So, we asked Hollie and Trace if they'd like to go and off we went. Trace and Hollie picked us up in their new G35. Ooo Sexy ;) I absolutely love the way it sounds. The car is beautiful! The only bad thing about it is...the back seats are not tall people friendly. >.<
We got to the museum around 3pm. It took FOREVER to find parking. We finally found parking and went inside. We were limited to what we could view but we did get to see Dinosaurs, Indians and much more.
We spent about an hour and half in the museum. We went upstairs and then back down to finally exit the museum. It was quite fun but there sure were a lot of people there. Next time we go, I plan on going to the butterfly exhibit.
Leaving the museum, we headed back to the car. On the way back we saw this nice little Taco Shop and decided to stop and get a drink. Bodega's Taco Shop. Omg the food smelled amazing! I wish we could have ate there but oh well. We got a drink and sat inside to chat and then moved outside to continue talking while Trace and Hollie smoked. It was nice outside. I took a few pictures of all of us and the taco shop.
Like I said, I think next time we are down by the museums, we are definitely going to stop and eat!

Blake and I had such a great time with our friends. Aren't they a cute couple! Hehe I love them. I especially love Hollie's red hair. >>Jealous<< href="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4086/5025136640_70d9e99800_z.jpg">

Look Into My Eyes

Look into my eyes and tell me what you see. My life is filled with love, joy, heartache and pain. I started out fragile and weak and was abused by a man I thought loved me. I was punched, thrown and smacked for being me. A wonderful woman saved my life, ruined the man's life and took me away. She saved my life. Without her, I'd be broken, alone, abused, without a home. She took care of me. She saved my life. She is....my Mom.

Above ^ is the love of my life. My baby girl Sissy. I got her September 15th, 2006. It wasn't the happiest time in my life. I looked at her coming into my home as another mouth I'd have to feed. Shortly I realized that she would be the one to keep my joy alive and that I would be the one that would rescue her life. The man who gave her to me was an evil man. Never should he have been allowed to touch her. In October 2006, 4am, that man threw her and broke her leg. She was only a month or two old. $400 later and she was patched up and ready to come home to me. She learned how to use her liter box with a cast on and how to walk. She was the cutest little thing with her cast on. The following year, 2007, that same man decided he was going to make her mad. She didn't much care for him after what he's done to her, so she hissed. Then a war broke loose. Punches were thrown and a kitty was left helpless and trapped. Mom came to the rescue and pulled the evil man away. I called it quits from there on and took the precious kitty away from him. Never again will I let someone hurt something that I love.

Now, September 2010. It has almost been 4 years since this little bundle of joy was given to me. She still makes me happy, especially when I'm having a bad day. I have never had a cat so lovable and attached to one person, as she is to me. Never have I had a cat that has wanted to sit in a garage, right next to me and watch me work on a car (let alone want to RIDE in a car). She's the best cat I have ever had, even though she hasn't had a great life. She makes me happy and I make her happy. This is our story.

Photography = Relaxation

Photography IS relaxation..to me anyway. This past weekend I went with Blake to the Bullrito's car meet. It was a decent meet. I ended up taking a few photos and I'll share those in a minute. Lately it seems like nothing is really exciting me. Luckily when that happens, I turn to my photography. It's usually there to rescue me. Thank goodness!
I was standing by some friends when I took this picture. I looked up and saw the sun coming through the clouds and over the trees just right and figured it would make a nice photo. Indeed it did! I took this with the stock 18-55mm lens and surprisingly this picture actually turned out decent, despite the lens.

The meet ended up being pretty good. It was still hot outside but even so, we stayed for a few hours. The food at Bullrito's wasn't all that great. Was a waste of money since we didn't eat hardly any of it. Oh
well. Lesson learned.

Yesterday evening, photography came to the rescue again. I was sitting on the couch writing and out of the corner of my eye I saw some beautiful colors. I looked up and outside the sun was setting. It made the sky a beautiful pink, orange and blue color.

I love the sunsets here. That's probably one of the only things I like about this place. Besides the boyfriend and everything being cheaper. Oh and well of course my job!

That's all for now. More pictures will be coming soon. In the future I'll be doing a maternity shoot, engagement photos and a family portrait. Stay tuned
