-An Amazing Woman-

An amazing woman lost the fight against cancer on October 10, 2010. Who is this amazing woman you might ask? This woman is my cousin Aram & Erik's mom...my aunt Julie. She was an amazing woman. Mother of two and grandmother of one and one on the way. No one will ever forget her love, her courage, her will to fight.

There will never be a day that we don't think about this amazing woman. The lives she brought into this world, the love she shared toward everyone, her heart..the size of Texas :D and her amazing will to keep going up to the last day. She was an amazing person.

Julie was able to see the birth of her first grandson, Benjamin. She was also able to see her oldest, Aram, marry Heather. She was able to know that she would have a second grandson later on. She was also able to see her youngest son, Erik, graduate into the Coast Guard. She accomplished and saw a lot of wonderful things throughout her life.

An amazing woman will live on for years in our hearts. She is in a better place now where she will feel no more pain. No more hospital visits, no pain. She will be looking down on us from Heaven and wait for us all to join her one day.

October 10, 2010 will no longer be a day of mourning, but will be a day to celebrate an amazing person's life. We will not mourn for loss, but rejoice for memories made with her. There are so many good memories that everyone will be able to share with each other as years go on.

Memories big and small. Simple memories like watching nascar on the living room couch. Big memories like Aram's Wedding and the birth of baby Benjamin. Everyone has a good memory of her and that's what needs to be shared. She would not want us to mourn her death but to celebrate her life and the memories she made with us. To celebrate the happiest times, not the bad.
She would want us to be happy and know that she is in a better place where there is no more suffering and heartaches. Memories of her will always be with us. She was an amazing person!

Museum Day 2010

Saturday September 25th, 2010. Free day at the museum. Actually, free day for all the museums in Houston!
Blake told me about the free day at the museum. So, we asked Hollie and Trace if they'd like to go and off we went. Trace and Hollie picked us up in their new G35. Ooo Sexy ;) I absolutely love the way it sounds. The car is beautiful! The only bad thing about it is...the back seats are not tall people friendly. >.<
We got to the museum around 3pm. It took FOREVER to find parking. We finally found parking and went inside. We were limited to what we could view but we did get to see Dinosaurs, Indians and much more.
We spent about an hour and half in the museum. We went upstairs and then back down to finally exit the museum. It was quite fun but there sure were a lot of people there. Next time we go, I plan on going to the butterfly exhibit.
Leaving the museum, we headed back to the car. On the way back we saw this nice little Taco Shop and decided to stop and get a drink. Bodega's Taco Shop. Omg the food smelled amazing! I wish we could have ate there but oh well. We got a drink and sat inside to chat and then moved outside to continue talking while Trace and Hollie smoked. It was nice outside. I took a few pictures of all of us and the taco shop.
Like I said, I think next time we are down by the museums, we are definitely going to stop and eat!

Blake and I had such a great time with our friends. Aren't they a cute couple! Hehe I love them. I especially love Hollie's red hair. >>Jealous<< href="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4086/5025136640_70d9e99800_z.jpg">

Look Into My Eyes

Look into my eyes and tell me what you see. My life is filled with love, joy, heartache and pain. I started out fragile and weak and was abused by a man I thought loved me. I was punched, thrown and smacked for being me. A wonderful woman saved my life, ruined the man's life and took me away. She saved my life. Without her, I'd be broken, alone, abused, without a home. She took care of me. She saved my life. She is....my Mom.

Above ^ is the love of my life. My baby girl Sissy. I got her September 15th, 2006. It wasn't the happiest time in my life. I looked at her coming into my home as another mouth I'd have to feed. Shortly I realized that she would be the one to keep my joy alive and that I would be the one that would rescue her life. The man who gave her to me was an evil man. Never should he have been allowed to touch her. In October 2006, 4am, that man threw her and broke her leg. She was only a month or two old. $400 later and she was patched up and ready to come home to me. She learned how to use her liter box with a cast on and how to walk. She was the cutest little thing with her cast on. The following year, 2007, that same man decided he was going to make her mad. She didn't much care for him after what he's done to her, so she hissed. Then a war broke loose. Punches were thrown and a kitty was left helpless and trapped. Mom came to the rescue and pulled the evil man away. I called it quits from there on and took the precious kitty away from him. Never again will I let someone hurt something that I love.

Now, September 2010. It has almost been 4 years since this little bundle of joy was given to me. She still makes me happy, especially when I'm having a bad day. I have never had a cat so lovable and attached to one person, as she is to me. Never have I had a cat that has wanted to sit in a garage, right next to me and watch me work on a car (let alone want to RIDE in a car). She's the best cat I have ever had, even though she hasn't had a great life. She makes me happy and I make her happy. This is our story.

Photography = Relaxation

Photography IS relaxation..to me anyway. This past weekend I went with Blake to the Bullrito's car meet. It was a decent meet. I ended up taking a few photos and I'll share those in a minute. Lately it seems like nothing is really exciting me. Luckily when that happens, I turn to my photography. It's usually there to rescue me. Thank goodness!
I was standing by some friends when I took this picture. I looked up and saw the sun coming through the clouds and over the trees just right and figured it would make a nice photo. Indeed it did! I took this with the stock 18-55mm lens and surprisingly this picture actually turned out decent, despite the lens.

The meet ended up being pretty good. It was still hot outside but even so, we stayed for a few hours. The food at Bullrito's wasn't all that great. Was a waste of money since we didn't eat hardly any of it. Oh
well. Lesson learned.

Yesterday evening, photography came to the rescue again. I was sitting on the couch writing and out of the corner of my eye I saw some beautiful colors. I looked up and outside the sun was setting. It made the sky a beautiful pink, orange and blue color.

I love the sunsets here. That's probably one of the only things I like about this place. Besides the boyfriend and everything being cheaper. Oh and well of course my job!

That's all for now. More pictures will be coming soon. In the future I'll be doing a maternity shoot, engagement photos and a family portrait. Stay tuned

People Are Awesome

A birthday party? Yes, why not? It's a great time to take couple pictures for people. HaHa. It wasn't really planned but this was her first time in Texas with her boyfriend. I thought it would be a good time to take a few pictures for them.

It was a good day. Not too hot but not cold by far. The backyard was absolutely gorgeous! It was great for photos so I decided to get a few more photos in for another couple. This backyard is definitely a good place to take pictures at!

All I did to these two pictures was go in and edit the WB- White Balance. The hue was too blue. These were shot with a 55-250mm lens.

Up Close & Personal

Lately I've been trying to do portraits of people. Here are a few that I've done. Just random shots. The first one is of my friend Ricardo. Him, my bf and I went to Galveston to walk around and take pictures. We were outside of an ice cream shop and I decided to snap a picture of him.

I've also taken a couple of my bf. I've caught him off guard a few times. He doesn't really care to have his picture taken but I like to take pictures so he has to deal with it. hehe

I also annoy my friend Jose with taking pictures of him. We had finished playing soccer (well the guys played and I took pictures) and we were eating at Taco Cabana and I decided to take a few pictures of him. He was happy to know that a few of my friends thought he was cute when I uploaded his photo.

All three pictures were taken with the Canon Rebel XS. The first picture I took was taken with a 18-55mm lens and the bottom two pictures were taken with a 55-250mm lens.

Life Through Different Eyes

It's been awhile since I've taken pictures. I've been busy dealing with financial stuff and moving.

I was able, however, to go to a friends house and take pictures of his pets for him.

This cat was awesome to photograph. He stood still and was nice enough to let me get in his face with the camera.

Normally I just take pictures of my cat but today was a good day to expand to other people's pets.

Photo above taken with a Canon Rebel XS:
Exposure: 0.125 sec (1/8)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 55 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire

My friend owns many cats, two dogs, turtles and a bird. The day was mainly spent taking pictures of his older dog, Major. He is a pure bred male boxer and is very old. These shots were for my friend to have pictures of him to hold onto when he passes. He's such a great dog!
Having so many pets is awesome. I love photographing animals. Especially animals that people are so madly in love with and treat as their own kids. It was a great day.

I used:

Canon Rebel XS
Exposure: 0.05 sec (1/20)
Aperture: f/4.0
Focal Length: 55 mm
ISO Speed: 800
Exposure Bias:
Flash:
0 EV

Off, Did not fire

Photography To Me

Photography to me is expressing your creative side. It's a passion not a job description. I have always loved taking photographs of whatever I could get my hands on. I started out taking portraits for schools. Now I take photos of vehicles, pets, landscape, basically whatever I feel is worth having it's picture taken.

Recently I have been focusing on cars and animals. I practice a lot on my cat Sissy. She's so photogenic and easy to take photos of. Soon, I'll be branching out and doing more pet photos for people other than myself. I will also be doing portraits soon. Two friends of mine are engaged so I will be doing some engagement photos for them. Later on I will be taking portraits and hopefully in the future, doing wedding photos.

I love photography. It's not only my hobby but also my passion. I couldn't be happier doing anything else. Photography is my life and my life is photography. You can capture so much emotion in one photograph that it will blow you away. I'm passionate about what I do and couldn't be happier doing it!
